Description: An analysis of the problem of juvenile delinquency in contemporary society, considering research studies of delinquent youth, theories of delinquency, and treatment, control and disposition of adjudicated delinquents. Problems of youth in a complex society, education, minority group status and youth gangs will also be discussed as they relate to the problem of delinquency.

Prerequisites: JLA 100 Introduction to Criminal Justice or SOC 100 Introduction to Sociology. Transcripts will need to be provided if the prerequisite is not completed at Western.
