Tutoring
If you are a student attending one of our participating institutions,
you may have access to online tutoring services, delivered via a dynamic,
user-friendly tutoring platform.
Check out the list of participating schools below. If you are currently
registered for courses or are matriculated with one of these institutions,
go to www.etutoring.org to utilize
this free service.
As a participant in eTutoring, you could have access to:
- Our Online Writing Lab where you can submit a draft
of your paper to a tutor, ask for specific feedback, and receive your
work back with a tutor's response within 24-48 hours.
Note: Our eTutors will not edit, correct, or rewrite
your paper, but will help you improve your work and your writing
skills.
- Live Tutoring where you can meet with a tutor in
one-on-one tutoring sessions via a fully interactive, virtual online
environment.
Offline Questions where you can leave a specific question
for an eTutor who will respond within 48 hours.
What
can eTutoring do for Your Institution or Consortium?
Our Program
The eTutoring program promotes institutional, system, district,
and consortia collaboration around tutoring. Within the Collaborative
Tutor Groups, institutions can take advantage of shared resources
among the participating members. In order to participate in a
tutor group, your institution needs to allocate a percentage
of tutor time to the collaborative based on your students' usage.
Once a member, your students will experience greater tutor coverage
and topics.
If your institution (consortium, system, district, or business)
is looking for private environment where you can utilize your
own tutoring resources, try our dedicated model. You will have
the ability manage your entire tutoring program as you control
system & institution set-up, branding, and tutor scheduling. |
Our Platform
The eTutoring platform allows for asynchronous and synchronous
communication through a variety of tools. Our synchronous
communication tool is powered by Adobe/Macromedia
Breeze™. The feature-rich Breeze tool allows for
chat, whiteboard, application & file sharing, audio & video,
and much more.
The asynchronous tools include an online Question Queue where
students can submit new questions and review their previous postings;
an Online Writing Lab where students request
help with written assignments by submitting their work along
with a questionnaire about what areas need addressing (all correspondence
is archived, including a document revision history); and an Online
Resource Center where students & tutors review an
extensive resource library that is full of links, tips, and techniques
for improved writing skills. |
