Once your district has submitted the teacher/mentor
Application/MOA and been accepted for the CTDLC Teacher
Institute for Online Curriculum Development, your team mentor
should contact the CTDLC to schedule the Teachers' Workshop. To reserve

As part of the CTDLC Teacher Institute, the CTDLC will conduct a two-day mentor training session. Mentors will then be required to attend the Teachers' Workshop and CTDLC Teacher Institute Wrap-Up for their local district. The following topics will be covered in depth at the Mentors' Workshop*:
Mentors' Workshop:
- Introduction to the CTDLC Teacher Institute for Online Curriculum Development
- Strategies for supporting local teachers participating in the Teachers Institute
- Introduction to online pedagogy
- Discussion of CT State Department of Education Frameworks, Goals, and Standards
- Learning unit design activities
- Introduction to learning unit development tools
- Learning unit development activities
- Introduction to the CTDLC learning unit evaluation rubric; heuristics for suggesting improvements.
- Cohort evaluation of already developed learning units
- Presentation of learning units developed at Mentors' Workshop
The one day teacher workshop and after-school follow-up will be scheduled at the convenience of the individual districts. The following topics will be covered in depth at the Teachers' Workshop and CTDLC Teacher Institute Wrap-Up**:
Teachers' Workshop (full day):
- Review of CTDLC Teacher Institute for Online Curriculum Development program goals and criteria for completion
- Introduction to online pedagogy
- Learning unit design activities
- Overview of development tools
- Introduction to the CTDLC learning unit evaluation rubric
- Learning unit development workshop
CTDLC Teacher Institute Wrap-Up (after school):
- Discussion about CTDLC Teacher Institute for Online Curriculum Development
- Preview of the CTDLC learning unit database
- Teachers' learning unit showcase.
*Note: Mentors must attend the entire Mentors' Workshop, Teachers' Workshop, and CTDLC Teacher Institute Wrap-Up to receive full CEU credit.
