1.) Go to: http://www.aim.com/
2.) Once the page loads, hover your mouse over "For Your Computer", then click on the operating system that your computer has.
3.) If you have never used AIM before, click the "New Users Click Here" button. If you have an AIM screen name and you wish to do a new install or an upgrade, click "Upgrade".
4.) A Download Dialog box will then pop up. Click "Open" to start the download.
5.) You then have to read, and agree to, the license agreement. Once you have done this, click "Yes".
6.) You are then given setup information about AIM, after you read this you can click "Next".
7.) You will then see the Installation Components box, check which options you wish to have installed on your computer and click "Next". We recommend that you uncheck all three boxes before clicking next.
8.) AIM will then check to make sure you have enough hard drive space, at this page you can also change the destination folder of the AIM installation. If you wish to leave it at the default destination, simply click "Next".
9.) You then have to select which option bests fits your computer. Then click "Next".
10.) You then have to provide some basic information, once you have done so, click "Next".
11.) Check which options you wish to have installed on your computer, then click "Next".
12.) You are then ready to install. Press the "Next" button to begin the installation.
13.) AIM will then begin to install on your computer, the time may vary depending on the speed of your computer. Once it is complete, you will be ready to use AIM.
