The new help desk software has a number of other features that make getting assistance faster, easier, and more efficient. Every function of the program can be accessed from the toolbar, which is displayed on the left side of the browser window in Internet Explorer.
The Knowledge Base feature allows you to get answers to common questions and review solutions to problems other users have had. To use the Knowledge Base, click the 'Knowledge Base' button in the toolbar, enter a question, and click find. A list of documents matching your query will appear, and you can click on the bold title of each listing to view the document.
The 'Announcements' button allows you to review announcements posted by CTDLC staff about software updates, server maintenance, or other information pertaining to the online course systems. The 'View Requests' button allows you to review other support requests, specifying a date range or other criteria. You can also use this feature to review past support issues and see if a problem similar to yours has already been solved. If you need to update your e-mail address, phone number, or other contact information, you can do so by clicking the 'Your Profile' button. A screen will appear where you can modify your problem. Please remember that in order for us to help you, you must provide a valid e-mail address.
The 'Logout' button signs you out of the help desk software; if you are accessing the help desk through a public computer it is important to sign out when you are finished. Finally, the 'Help' button opens a window containing support information, including a link to this document. We hope that the new help desk software will make it easier for us to give you timely, accurate support information.
