Logging On

In your browser, type "http://bb.ctdlc.org". The Welcome window will appear.

Click the Login button to access the username/password screen.

Enter you username and password provided by your instructor/school, then click Login.
If you forgot your password, click the link to be directed to a form that will retrieve your password.

**Note: Your username and password are case sensitive.


Student Page

Student Page

From the Student Page, you will see all the courses that you are enrolled in; any announcements from those courses; any appointments you added to your calendar; and any tasks you have added.

Under My Courses, click on the title of your course (CTDLC Sample Course) to enter the online classroom.

Once inside the online classroom, you will be directed to the Announcements section. This section will tell you important information related to the course, its assignments, or its exams.


Course Navigation

On the left part of the screen, you will see the buttons for navigating through the online classroom.

The Buttons:

Announcements: By default, this is the first screen you see when you enter a course. It contains important information from your instructor. Your instructor may be informing you of a new quiz or test, or a change in the syllabus.
Syllabus: The syllabus contains the outline of the course. It will highlite important dates for assignments due, as well as give the instructor's course and grading policies.
Faculty Information: This section will contain contact information for your instructor.
Lectures: This section contains the main content of the course.
Assignments: This section contains your weekly assignments.
Communication: This section contains links to communication tools, such as email, a discussion board, chat room, and group pages. We will go into more detail about these features in the next lecture.
Resources: This section contains links to information on the world wide web.
Student Tools: This section contains tools for students track tasks, keep contacts, and check grades.



Content

Each one of these sections is constructed using items and folders. Your weekly lectures or assignments may be separated by folders and the content will be an item inside of the folder.

Communication Tools

Click the Communications button from the course menu to access this area.

Send E-mail

  • You may ask a question of the Instructor or a fellow
    student.

  • An Instructor can send work assignments to the entire
    class or answer an individual's question.

Discussion Board

  • The Threaded Discussion area supports messages with
    attachments.
  • Here is where the class will hold asynchronous discussions.
    Participants will post their contributions and read the postings of
    others.
  • Many courses grade student participation in these
    discussions.

Virtual Classroom

  • Provides an area for synchronous learning.
  • Supports chat, whiteboard, and slide show activities.

Group Pages

  • This section allows instructors to set up team project
    for students

  • Only the students assigned to the group can view the
    information inside.

  • A group may have its own private Discussion Board,
    Virtual Classroom, or File Exchange
