Best Practices For Online Programs

The eight regional accrediting agencies developed a detailed model of best practices for "technologically mediated instruction offered at a distance."  These Best Practices can be found on the web on the WICHE web site under Western Cooperative for Education Telecommunications Policy Information at:   http://www.wiche.edu/telecom/Accrediting%20-%20Best%20Practices.pdf.  We have taken these detailed best practices and created a table with the best practices on the left side of the table and an indication of when and how the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium can be helpful in ensuring that institutions are in fact using what is currently understood to constitute best practices in distance education on the right side of the table.  The practices are broken into five areas and the table reflects this organization.
