Want to deliver efficient and effective training to the people in your organization? Trying to serve the needs of employees in multiple locations? Tired of reprinting revised training materials? Online Training Services from the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium can help solve these problems.

Benefits To Your Organization

  • Reduced travel - employees can be trained from their current location, without expensive travel and workplace disruptions.
  • Increased instructor access - each employee will be able to interact with the instructor in a personalized, one-to-one environment conducive to learning.
  • Greater success - Save money on retraining and lost productivity: online training allows employees to learn at their own paces and retain more material than they would in traditional educational settings.

How We Help You
We know that delivering your training materials online can be confusing: many vendors to choose from, competing software products, and conflicting advice. We're here to offer unique solutions tailored to the individual needs of your organization. We can offer extensive experience delivering training packages for Fortune 500 companies, small nonprofit agencies, and everyone in between. And because we're not selling you a packaged software product, we'll make sure that your training solution is right for you. The CTDLC will assist your organization with:

  • Seamless transition from classroom-based to online training: One of our staff experts will review your current training and work with your current training staff to ensure a smooth transition to a new online medium. We won't try to sell you a "one size fits all" package.
  • Tracking and assessment modules - follow the progress of your employees as their work their way through the training materials, and accurately assess their retention of key training information at multiple points in the training program.
  • Document services - Have old employee manuals? Archaic computer files? Our staff members can scan and convert printed materials, capture audio and video content (for more information, see our Multimedia Services page). We'll do more than just scan, convert, and sort - we'll work with your HR department to make sure new training materials take advantage of the capabilities of digital media.
  • Server solutions - CTDLC staff can work with your IT department to deploy electronic training material over your existing network infrastructure, or put you in touch with one of our proven technology partners to develop an entirely new solution. Either way, you can be sure that you're getting the most reliable, low-cost server solution. And if you're concerned about keeping your system up-to-date, the CTDLC can provide you with software to update your materials or create a service contract where we take care of the updates.
  • Training packages - Each training package includes online discussions, email communications, teacher-student/student-student relationship features, 7-day technical support online or by phone, and chat server software if requested. The support feature could be changed into a separate page if this becomes a separate feature.

Case Study: American Radio Relay League
The Amateur American Radio Leagues (AARL), a service organization for 175,000 ham radio operators worldwide, was looking to increase training services for those members. AARL came to the CTDLC for guidance in how to begin an e-learning approach. Over the past 2 years, the CTDLC staff has assisted them in producing 7 courses which they are serving at the rate of 300 enrollments per month. Their amateur radio emergency communication course just received a federal grant to assist them in offering the training nationally. The CTDLC advises them on course design, builds all the course components, supplies a 7-day help desk for their students, and hosts the servers and software that runs the courseware.
